P2 — FIRST PODIUM FOR E1 TEAM MONACO AT THE E1 LUANDA GP 2026
Luanda, Angola — September 13, 2026 — E1 Team Monaco celebrated a historic milestone at the E1 Luanda GP 2026, securing second place, the team’s first-ever podium in the UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF. After a challenging start to the race day, Oban Duncan and Maxime Nocher delivered a remarkable comeback, overcoming boat damage, a rapid repair and a series of demanding races to bring home a P2 finish. The result came in only the team’s fifth race of its first E1 Championship season, with E1 Team Monaco scoring 30 championship points.

A HISTORIC RESULT
E1 Team Monaco entered the race finals starting from P4 following Saturday’s qualifying session. In Race 1 – Group A, challenging visibility conditions forced Maxime Nocher to change direction, resulting in contact with another RaceBird and damage to the boat’s left foil.
With just one hour available before the team’s next race, the crew immediately began repairs. Working against the clock, the team successfully completed the repair in just 30 minutes, getting the RaceBird back on the water and race-ready for Race 3.
With Oban Duncan onboard, E1 Team Monaco came out fighting. A strong performance secured P2 in Race 3 - Group A, putting the team firmly back in contention.
Maxime Nocher then took over for Final 1, where a difficult start saw him initially outside the top three. Through a strong tactical strategy and determined driving, he fought his way back into P3, securing E1 Team Monaco’s place in the final race.
THE FINAL — OBAN PUSHES TO THE PODIUM
For the Final race, Oban Duncan was determined to bring a podium for Monaco. Pushing the RaceBird to its limits, she delivered a sensational performance to secure P2 — E1 Team Monaco’s first-ever podium in its inaugural season of the UIM E1 Championship presented by PIF.
Oban also recorded the fastest lap of the Final, with a time of 1:12.218, and was named Pilot of the Day in recognition of her determination and outstanding performance throughout the race.
The result earned E1 Team Monaco 30 championship points, marking a major milestone in the team’s first season in the UIM E1 World Championship. The strong performance also saw the team make a significant leap in the championship standings, moving from 9th to 6th place.

E1 TEAM MONACO PILOTS SPEAK ABOUT THEIR P2
Oban DUNCAN — E1 Team Monaco, female pilot:
“I had absolutely no idea where we were when I crossed the line. When I found out we had finished second, it was such a great achievement. The whole team should be so proud.”
“I feel amazing. I trusted Max and it worked out in the end. I’m so pleased for the whole team.”
Looking ahead to the next round, Oban added:
“We have to keep pushing. Miami is going to be two races, so we have to keep improving and pushing. Hopefully, we can make the podium again at the end of the year. We’re going to do our best.”

Reflecting on the final race, Maxime said:
“Oban was perfect. We were catching up quickly, and I said we could finish first. We were only one second behind. I trusted Oban and the strategy, and it worked out in the end. We pushed for it and we got second place. It was great.”
For Maxime, the podium represents an important milestone for the young team:
“We’re so happy for everyone who has trusted us. It has taken us a few races to get used to the boat and get used to the team, and now we’re on the podium. We are really pleased to be here. And we are looking forward to Miami races!”
